Davis acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and confirms the plan to be at their regular meeting. He advises of more than 50 churches having committed to field days estimating they will get one hundred.

A letter written to Bishop Ivin Lee Holt, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman 24th District United Texas Drys dated August 26, 1942. Carswell advises Holt of a letter that he is writing to the Baptist associations and expresses his desire to "get this matter before the Methodist people". He advises of the absence of effort or of a program save a temperance lesson from Christians on the harmful effects of beverage alcohol and of his belief that a such a course should be required in church supported schools.
