A letter written to Bishop Ivin Lee Holt, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman 24th District United Texas Drys dated August 26, 1942. Carswell advises Holt of a letter that he is writing to the Baptist associations and expresses his desire to "get this matter before the Methodist people". He advises of the absence of effort or of a program save a temperance lesson from Christians on the harmful effects of beverage alcohol and of his belief that a such a course should be required in church supported schools.

Letter from Evelyn Miller Crowell to I. H. Kempner discussing sets of questionnaires that are meant to be filled out for Kempner and his brothers, so they can be featured in the Texas edition of Men of Achievement. Crowell also informs Kempner on information regarding the Kempner's portraits that will be featured in the book.
