Photograph of Blue River bottom land. Cleared in 1956. Was wet, poorly drained timber land near wortless pasture before clearing and planting to midland bermuda and clover. Planted to bermuda 1957, 500 acre ranch has 200 acres on cultivation. 1959-ran 135 head grown cows and 500 sheep and offsprings. Uses vetch and clover for sown pasture. 10-on hill, 11 on bottom, all was cleared.

Field Brush Control Via Aerial Spraying on Oak Trees and Brush

Photograph of Neal Stidham, SCS Technician, and Mack Keathley standing in a field oak trees and brush which 80% was killed via aerial spraying in 1956 and 1957. This improved said land going from poor condition land to good condition. People shown in photo go as followed from left to right: 1. Neal Stidham, 2. Mack Keathley. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Brush Control. Aerial spraying, oak timber sprayed late June 1956 and 1957. Two years after second application still 80% kill on oak trees and brush. Trees die the year following chemical application. Range condition class before treatment was Poor Condition. Now in Good Condition and being used. Flood Caused Silt Deposit

Photograph of a silt deposit caused by flood. The 5 or 6" rain Sept. 26, 1959 caused hundreds of silt deposit areas on tributaries of Red Rock Creek. This silt deposit area is in a field which is located 3/4 miles below a proposed detention dam site.
