For a week, ever since he was brought to the zoo from India, by way of Californiam he has been leaping for freedom. He was transferred to a deeper den, but the efforts to escape continued. Day after day he leaped straight for the fence. Each time he fell back. Saturday he tried a new scheme. Starting from the ledge in the foreground, he jumped to the wall at left under the overhanging rock, then bounced over the fence onto the walkway. In billards, it's called a "cushion shot."
