A sign at the corner of the lot at NE 23 and Midwest Blvd. in Spencer proclaims the gathering to be a "Swap Meet." One woman explained Sunday, "We have to pay $5 tax to have a garage sale in Oklahoma City, and then we can only have two a year. So we all come out here and sell or trade our stuff." Clothing was the chief sale item. Some of it was tattered, dirty or moth eaten. Some showed no wear at all........Mrs. Mary Sizemore, a woman in her mid-40's, owns the lot where the swap meet is held every weekend...."
