A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Sec.-Mgr., Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Abilene, Texas, from Rupert H. Johnson, R. H. Johnson & Co., New York, dated June 25, 1938. Johnson acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and advises that the problem which the City of Abilene faces seems to him to be two-fold and proceeds to discuss the two problems suggesting possible solutions by citing the experiences of other cities. He advises of an enclosed clipping regarding the financing of Pittston, Pennsylvania. The reverse side of the last page of this letter includes calculations handwritten by T. N. Carswell. Typewritten on R. H. Johnson & Co. letterhead bearing OLD CHESTER BOND watermark; subsequent pages bear ETON BOND watermark.

A form letter addressed to Mr. Chas. A. Guy, Editor, Avalanche, Lubbock, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, American Legion Committee on Americanism, dated November 25, 1941. The letter contains the promotion of a "What is Americanism?" campaign. The campaign is defined as "seeking more light in the form of a contribution", the contribution being the answer to the question, "What is Americanism?". The answer will then be used "to help stimulate an Americanism Revival comparable in results to the periods of the Revolution, the Making of the Constitution, and the Civil War" stressing that the country's destiny depends on these answers. Postscript: "We suggest: A Patrick Henry Day observance in every community and school in the U.S.A."

A letter written to Reverend Jeff Davis, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated May 25, 1942. Carswell confirms that Davis should be at the Abilene Field Day on June 14. He lists the names of pastors and their congregations that have signed up and suggests that Davis send to them copies of the Crusader with a preparatory message. Denominations represented include Baptist, First Christian, Methodist, and Presbyterian.

Carswell replies to a request for information regarding J. W. Reid and his brother. He advises that they practice law in Abilene, the brother is already in the Marine Corp and that, in the opinion of two good lawyers with whom Carswell talked, "J. W. Reid means well and does right".

Form letter written by Riedel advising that he has been granted a "leave of absence" by Mr. C. H. Cavness, with the consent of Governor Coke R. Stevenson, to serve as the Acting Department Adjutant.

Hereford replies to a request from Carswell regarding a meeting with church leaders in Lubbock and requests that Carswell wait until the preachers return to plan a conference.
