McKenzie requests of Northcut to send telegrams immediately to his representatives in Austin urging that they "kill" the Vicks Senate amendment to House Bill 84. McKenzie asks Northcut to encourage others to send telegrams. The reverse side includes answer written by TNC [T. N. Carswell] dated June 27, 1949; "To require L. B. [Liquor Board] to face license in court with evidence before cancellation of license. Seems but fair - hence ranks encouraged Tippen to favor."

Hull makes reference to the interest shown by Russell in Mr. T. N. Carswell concerning the grades and pay of Clerical Audit Supervisors and advises of the limitations provided under the Classification Act of 1923.

Carswell writes a special report covering a complaint inferring that the Clerk of the Sierra Blanca Board No. 1 gave out information regarding a positive serology test of a registrant. Carswell determines that it appears that the Clerk was in no way involved.

Carswell advises of a letter written by Mr. E. T. Miller to State Headquarters dated January 10, 1944. He advises that Miller has received no reply resulting in his loss of enthusiasm. Carswell, therefore, encourages State Headquarters to reply.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas,, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 24, 1943. Davis advises of the date set for the San Angelo field day to be in late March, that the date is a result of the current Wichita County work. He touts the Rio Grande Valley trip as his most profitable. Davis advises Carswell that he will write P. D. O'Brien but is unsure of success there noting that O'Brien has a hard situation in his church stating, "they have been able to intimidate every pastor they have had".
