A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Elia J. Hobbs, Garland, N. C., February 24, 1954. Hobbs explains who C. W. Presswood is, what he has asked and advises that she has included a "copy" of part of the letter from C. W. Presswood. Presswood requests to lease her place for five years describing the work needed to "get it fixed up where you could use it for some good" then states that he would like to buy the place. Hobbs resumes her correspondence to Carswell explaining what she thinks about the proposition.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from E. M. Collier, Administrator, Hendrick Memorial Hospital dated March 24, 1956. Notification by Collier of a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Hendrick Memorial Hospital. An agenda is outlined including Dr. V. H. Shoultz to report on the radio isotope laboratory and the colbalt unit desired at Hendrick.

Morrow discusses the history of his possible candidacy and advises that he prefers to withhold any final announcement until the legislative situation clears up or until he can study all the factors involved. Attachment includes: Note stating, "Mr. Morrow thought you might be interested in the enclosed copy of statement made by him this morning."

A letter written to Senator David Ratliff, State Senate, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated June 24, 1959. Carswell expresses his hope that Latimer will be able to "work out" a tax bill during the special session and that it will include the natural gas 'severance' tax and 'abandoned property' or 'unclaimed funds', both opposed by Governor Daniel.

A letter written to Mrs. Iris Blitch, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, dated June 24, 1959. Carswell informs Blitch that he is a native of Homerville, Georgia, her district, thus he is writing to enlist her support of the new Labor Bill, the bill sponsored by Representative Smith of Virginia restricting the Supreme Court when dealing with strictly state matters and to discontinue or drastically reduce Foreign Aid. He informs of their family connection by the fact that her husband's maternal grandmother was his mother's sister.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene Machine Company, Abilene, Texas, from R. D. Hill, Little Rock, Arkansas, dated January 24, 1950. Hill predicts that the New Mexico man will prove to be a "go-get-ter", outlines his business travel itinerary, and requests to learn by February 1 of the status of the Post Office Box in order to direct his mail there. Handwritten postscript at top left of page requests a pardon for the errors.
