McCarter writes that Mitchell's participation in the workshop for Art Teachers from Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD was very appreciated and that Mitchell brings a special insight into the problems NTIEVA faces. McCarter writes that Mitchell and Sonja Starnes should be able to build a DBAE program for the schools.

Duke expresses some concern with the content of the National Arts Standards draft and promises McCarter if he could give written feedback no later than October 1st, the Center will pay him.

In regards to Jeff Patchen speaking at the Young Audiences conference in Dallas. Davis and his NTIEVA co-director Bill McCarter have discussed bringing Patchen to the University of North Texas, however, there is no justifiable reason to bring him to the School of Visual Arts since Patch is a musician. Davis is planning on sharing Jericho's letter to the David Sharder, Dean of the College of Music as he might have an interested in Patchen speaking with the music faculty.

Attached is the request for approval to travel form from the University of North Texas, filled out by Stephens as Stephens and Reynolds are traveling to Los Angeles to partake in the National Art Education Association conference. There is also a bill from The Westin Bonaventure hotel and suites in Los Angels for a total of $716.80 and airline tickets that Reynolds and Stephens would like reimbursed.

The letter states that Davis will have to abide by the criteria and procedures set for art education consultants and be available for consulting. Greer needs Davis to sign and date the letter in the space provided to signify his understanding and agreement of the contents.

Due to unforeseen scheduling obstacles, Leilani Lattin Duke will be unable to attend the director's meeting on Friday, May 7th, 1994. To accommodate this, Duke requests that the directors' meeting in Laguna Beach be moved back one day.

In reply to a fax from Brown to McCarter with an attachment from Mike Feduk and Braden Kuhlmen to the Satellite Educational Resources Consortium, Inc. The attachment is in regards to descriptors Feduk and Kuhlmen have provided to SERC, in regards to the teleconference between Nebraska and the North Texas Institute. McCarter's note reads, "Descriptors OK with Texas."

A letter from Sheila Brown, director of Prairie Visions, the Nebraska Consortium for Discipline-Based Art Education, to Nancy Cason and William McCarter, project coordinator and co-director for North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. The letter is in regards to the enclosed SERC course proposal that was written by Peter Chant, Director of Education Services, Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission. Brown would like to discuss this with McCarter at the meeting in Santa Barbara in January and wonders if Vicki Rosenberg will pay for an extra day to plan.
