Rev. Renghong Khular, the founder of Lamkang Naga Baptist Association-LNBA sharing the story of forming a village and founding the LNBA. This narrative was collected as part of the Firebird Foundation for Anthropological Research by Sumshot Khular.

Sankhil Shetphong of Thamlapokpi sings and explains the meaning of the folk song Reite Penang and “Khuungpaar Laa”. The song translates as follows: Flower bloom but we don’t know when they disappear. After they bloom as they disappear from the whole mountain range. [areiyo paar re, reite penang paar ee]. This recording was made as part of Firebird Foundation for Anthropological Research project collection by Sumshot Khular.

A recording of discussion of sentences demonstrating which verbs take complement clauses that have either a co-referential object or subject with the main clause. The purpose for the elicitation was to see if the co-referential NP is overt or unexpressed and to see what other morphology shows up in the complement clause.

Discussion of traditional songs by Shetwor Dilbung and Bunghon Suungnem at a storytelling festival funded by the NSF project and organized and implemented by Rex Khullar and Harimohon Thounaojam. The speakers discuss the types of songs they would like to collect and archaic vocabulary used in songs. They also discuss the Totlang festival in Phaidaam in 2008.

A conversation between Daniel Tholung and Shekarnong Sankhil. This was a staged conversation for the sake of an undergraduate Phonetics and Phonology class at the University of North Texas. We recorded the conversation and then immediately used to demonstrate annotation with PRAAT acoustic software.
