Dodd details to "Sis" that they went to see "the old place" and notes that there are three families living there. She continues the letter on Sunday discussing what they had for Sunday dinner, and she asks what they plan to do for Thanksgiving. She also discusses the poor economy and asks if it has affected Mary, Linnet, and Claude very much. Birdie addresses Mary Moore as Aunt Mollie.
