Detective Lt. J. H. Reading, juvenile divison, estimated the crowd at about 500 persons. The sale of 105 uncalimed bikes netted $1,125 for the city's general fund. Reading said officers had not expected such a big turnout and at the next sale would be better prepared to handle a large crowd."
