The specimen exhibits an oval shape; thin shell; double looped beak sculpturing; bluish-white internal coloring; green external coloring; no external sculpturing. Collected in the San Jacinto basin. The specimen measures between 0 - 60 mm in length and was assessed to be relatively-recently dead when collected.

Patent for improvements in steam-pumps, of which “are adapted to compress a liquefiable gas—such as that of ammonia—to a state of partial liquefaction, the pressure being subsequently removed and the liquefied refrigerating agent expanding through tubes and chambers, and the cooling effect produced by the volatile liquid again assuming its gaseous state is utilized for the absorption of heat.” (Lines 10-17) Illustration is included.

Penholder.

Patent for a new and improved pen holder. This design "relates to improvements in penholders whereby the pen may be automatically discharged or ejected from the holder" (lines 8-11). It consists "of a staff with tenoned end, a portion of which is cut out of its upper surface with a downward bevel to its lower end, a beveled slide adapted to fit and slide upon the beveled cut in the staff, said slide being provided with a slight shoulder upon its upper side and a hole through the same for a screw or pin, a tube longitudinally slotted inclosing said staff and slide" (lines 38-47).
