Goff advises that Carswell has been elected for a three year term as trustee of Hendrick Memorial Hospital of Abilene.

Arnovich advises Carswell of their efforts to recruit a local doctor to perform an eye exam for Byrdie Carswell, of the enclosed receipts credited to Byrdie's account and that she continues to do well. A letter written to Mrs. Hanks from T. N. Carswell dated June 22, 1963. Carswell comments on having seen the Memorial given for her Dad and Mother while touring the Minnie L. Anderson addition and of how his vivid recollections of her father, persist, "Hence this note of genuine appreciation to you - and Bernard." Carswell also reminicses of his aquaintance with Dr. Hollis [L. W. Hollis] and her mother and of the hospital built by Dr. Hollis. He compliments her decision in selecting Hendrick Memorial Hospital in which to place a marker dedicating the service of Dr. Hollis as a physician to the community in the early years of Abilene.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from E. W. Bailey, Controller, Hardin-Simmons University dated April 22, 1965. Bailey advises of enclosed checks HSU had failed to forward an annual installment for the lots owned by Carswell on Cedar Street.

A letter written to Tommy Carswell from Dorothy Clarkson Lloyd, dated February 22, 1968. Lloyd expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his kind and thoughtful letter noting that Claude would have liked it. She advises that Carswell was one of Claude's dearest friends, that his illness was brief and that she was proud and happy to have been part of "this wonderful person's life" and no one need be sorry for her.
