Caption: "Summer drouth has lowered Lake Hefner almost 6 1/2 feet from the high point of the year last June 18, when the lake was 9 feet from the full mark. On the brighter side, however, the lake is still 123 feet higher than at this time last year. The drop in the lake level has forced boats out of the waterless stalls is the municipal boat harbor and onto the beach, above, just outside the harbor."

Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "With only eight 71-foot sections of concrete flooring to be pouried on the Exchange avenue bridge, the city's consulting engineer estimates a driving surface can be completed by Novemeber 1, with favorable weather. However, Bill Wishert, consulting bridge engineer, said the would not recommend to City council that the bridge be opened to traffic until sidewalk guardrails are complete. Looking north on the bridge, above, the open space betweed floored sections has been narrowing since the contract time expired earlier this month. Wishert estimated the council could open the bridge by December 1 or 15 without handrails. He estimates all work on the bridge will be completed by late February."
