Hood has been removed that covers feeding mechanisms at front end of hopper so that spindles on feeder shaft can be seen. Weed growth in background was like that on site the day before. Site was one-wayed under very dry conditions. The resulting cloddy, dry, trashy site preparation is unfavorable for planting. DeBoy Wheatley, SCS technician, observing operation."

Before soil conservation district was organized, this field was in sunflowers – just paid a little more than taxes – now 2 days grazing raised butter fat 200 lbs. The 250 acres of alfalfa has been grazed, raised 20,000 bales of hay this summer plus a seed crop. See Tex-44-788 and Tex-44-489."
