Patent for "means for automatically indicating the amount of weight placed" (lines 10-11) within an elevator cage or platform with illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved matchbox. This design "relates to boxes or cases of the class having folding securing flaps or covers . . . To this end [the] invention comprises . . . a box or case open at one extremity for insertion and removal of its contents, and provided with a slot or opening extending from its open extremity to or nearly to its opposite extremity to permit access to and removal of its contents, and having a folding flap or cover adapted to close its openings and be detachably secured so as to effectually confine and protect the contents of the box" (lines 8-27).

Patent for a new and improved railroad-ties. This design "pertains to certain new and useful improvements in railroad-ties, having for its object the production of a metallic tie extremely simple in construction, and by means of which a rail can be readily removed or secured in place and a firm elastic bearing is secured for said rail" (lines 14-20).

Patent for a new and improved watch-case pendant. This design "is to improve the construction of the bow and crown-holder of stem-winding watches, so that they will be prevented from working loose. Furthermore, to produce a bow and crown-holder which may readily be attached to watches having the ordinary holder thereon, and, finally, to produce a stem which shall be simple of construction, and which may be attached to a watch with but a slight expense" (lines 15-24).

Patent for a new and improved shuttle-operator for looms. This design "has for its objects to provide novel, simple, and efficient mechanism for actuating the picking-sticks which effect the flight of the shuttles; to avoid the use of the ordinary lower picker-shaft; to avoid lateral angles in the picking-levers, which actuate the picking-sticks to throw the shuttles, and to otherwise improve the picking motion of looms for obtaining simplicity, strength, durability, power, and efficiency" (lines 8-18).

Patent for improvements in atomizers or instruments for distributing powders or liquids in which it provided “provision for closing the exit-passage and preserve the strength of the medicated powders or fluid and permit of the carrying of the same within the body of the device without danger of spilling.” (Lines 17-21) The rubber bulb is detachable and is used as a powder-box or as a bottle for fluid. Patent for an improved, inexpensive, and simple cotton press that is "adapted to compress cotton at the initial point of ginning and in a continuous operation with that of ginning, whereby [the inventor] avoid[s] the expense and labor occasioned by the handling of the cotton during its storage and transportation to the neighboring compress and the expense of said compression, and at the same time produce such compression or condensation of the cotton that I am enabled to secure the cheap rates of transportation accorded cotton which has been compressed to the standard degree of density" (lines 11-22).

Patent for a device to hold ice upon running-boards of vehicles (lines 10-11.) This device is flexible in use (it can be pulled up to reveal the ice, and put back out of the way), simple in design, and cheap to construct.
