Environmental filtering of macroinvertebrate traits influences ecosystem functioning in a large river floodplain
Article describes how the biodiversity–ecosystem function hypothesis postulates that higher biodiversity is correlated with faster ecosystem process rates and increased ecosystem stability in fluctuating environments. The authors examined linkages among floodplain wetland habitats, invertebrate communities and their associated traits, and ecosystem function across 60 sites within the floodplain wetlands of the lower Wolastoq, Saint John River, New Brunswick.

Spatial and temporal localization of SPIRRIG and WAVE/SCAR reveal roles for these proteins in actin-mediated root hair development
Article shows that SPIRRIG (SPI), a beige and Chediak Higashi domain-containing protein involved in membrane trafficking, and BRK1 and SCAR2, subunits of the WAVE/SCAR (W/SC) actin nucleating promoting complex, display polarized localizations in Arabidopsis thaliana root hairs during distinct developmental stages. Authors' work uncovers a role for SPI in facilitating actin-dependent root hair development in Arabidopsis through pathways that might intersect with W/SC.

Estimating Hausdorff measure for Denjoy maps
Article describes how the authors plant to deal with orientation preserving homeomorphisms and, more specifically, diffeomorphisms of the unit circle S1. By employing the recurrence method worked out in Pawelec the authors provide effective lower estimates of the proper-dimensional Hausdorff measure of minimal sets of circle homeomorphisms that are not conjugate to any rotation.
