The goal of the Piqua, Ohio District Heating and Cooling Demonstration Project is to demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of using cogenerated thermal energy from the City's Municipal Power Plant to provide residential, commercial and industrial space heating and cooling and satisfy other community energy needs as appropriate. Progress in four tasks within this project is reported. These tasks include: development of team work plan resource allocation; identification of thermal energy source market; analysis of energy market; and planning of power plant retrofits. (LCL)

This volume contains information on the organization and composition of the demonstration team; characterization of the Piqua community; and the technical, environmental, institutional; financial, and economic assessments of the project. STATE TRAFFIC TOLL 1971 to date 788, 1970 to date 794. 71 deaths under 21: 236, An Ardmore woman was killed Friday afternoon when her car collided with a Santa Fe Railroad engine in the city limits of Ardmore. Dead is ADALEE EMMA TUCKER, 63, Ardmore. Mrs. Tucker, a waitress at Lake Murray State Lodge, was pronounced dead on arrival at an Ardmore hospital. Ardmore police said her car drove in front of the northbound Santa Fe freight. B. A. Shawn, 46, Lone Grove, a witness to the accident, said the train was whistling when Mrs. Tucker's car drove onto the tracks, but it was only about 25 feet away. Mrs. Gale Tucker, the victim's daughter-in-law, said, "there are no signal lights, no blinkers or anything to warn that there is a train coming. There is hardly any way you can hear if you have the windows up."
