A letter written to Senator Tom Connally, U. S. Senate, from T. N. Carswell, dated February 18, 1946. Carswell states his opinion of Mr. Pauley advising that he does not believe Pauley possesses the moral integrity required to qualify for responsible governmental service requesting, therefore, that Connally oppose his confirmation as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. Carswell also offers insight regarding world peace; "In the matter of dealing with Russia it appears to me we are pursuing a course of appeasement and compromise that will as surely end in disaster as did a comparable policy in dealing with our recent enemies―will result in our subservience―Civil War came in spit of all Clay's compromises."

Whiting acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and advises that a car may be available around May 1st providing more cars are manufactured. He lists three models and their approximate prices.

Carswell criticizes the Buchanan report; "My concordance and I are unable to find in the New Testament any authority for the setting up of a Baptist oligarchy"; he advises that the report "be permanently stored in a polar cache" which is comparable to the atmosphere "in Southern Baptistdom" that would be created if the proposal was adopted.

A Western Union telegram sent to Mrs. Worth H. Clark, Ocala, Florida, from Norwood & Virginia, dated December 18, 1940. Carswell expresses their grief regarding the death of Worth hoping that his brother Allen was already there. They would not be able to go but to phone or wire anything she needed and was praying that God bless, comfort and keep close to her.

A letter written to Dean R. P. Sibley, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York from T. N. Carswell, dated July 18, 1944. Carswell acknowledges his receipt of Sibley's letter addressed to Peggy A. Carswell having placed her on probation. He advises of the fact that Peggy, having entered Cornell as a Junior, could not therefore have fulfilled any requirements by the end of the sophomore year and because she is now a senior applying probation, literally, is impossible. He requests that his daughter's probation status be reconsidered advising of the timing of this action as unnecessarily disturbing and that he must depend on Sibley to explore the matter thoroughly and to reply.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Roy Skaggs, County Judge, dated November 18, 1966. Skaggs expresses his appreciation for Carswell's effort as Presiding Judge of his Precinct noting that the election proved to be a very difficult election to hold and that they will correct as many of the difficulties as possible before another election.

Carswell discourses on his opinion of the appointment of Judge McGranery as Attorney General. He acknowledges Connally's intention to retire expressing his appreciation for his service stating, "You have served the State and Nation with uncommon ability, devotion and integrity".
