Copy of transcript for a letter from D. W. Smith to Stephen F. Austin, in which Smith informs Austin that a former colleague of his, whom he dispatched to Saltillo in order to sell several hundred pounds of calico, has decided to keep the money instead of returning the proceeds to Matamoras. Smith appeals to Austin for assistance in notifying the local authorities in the area and having him arrested if he is identified. Smith includes a description of the fugitive.
