[Battle of Ciudad Juárez, 1911 #1]

Postcard image of people examining an adobe building that was damaged by cannons and bullets during the Battle of Ciudad Juarez. The image was taken from one corner of the building and there are groups of people wearing formal clothing and hats standing along both visible sides, including several looking into the interior from atop rubble where the corner of the building is missing. Handwritten note on the back: "El Paso Texas Jan 18/1913 We saw this building. It is in Juarez, Mexico & was damaged during the war there last July 1912. The town was captured by the Mexican troops. It had been in the hands of the revolutionist for two years."

[Beaumont Country Club]

Postcard of of the Beaumont County Club house with pier and boathouse in the foreground. The Beaumont Country Club was formed in 1906 on a hill overlooking the Neches River on a hundred acres of land. Printed at the top left of the postcard is "Country Club House, BEAUMONT, Texas." Printed on the back of the postcard is the following information related to the postcard's creation: "Made in Germany. D.J. Hicks, Importer and Publisher, Beaumont, Texas" and "G.A.P.C.M. Co., N.Y." Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "Dear Julia - This is Sunday and we are busy as ever. I will write a letter tomorrow Hoping this will find you well and happy Mamma." The card is addressed to Mrs. Julia Stafford, Meridian Mississippi (Meridian Norman's College).

This loco pulled the excursion train up the east side of Marshall Pass without a helper, down to Gunnison, up to Crested Butte and back. Next evening it took the train back to Salida, CO, having loco 492 as a helper from Sargents to top of the of the pass.
