Olson discusses his family background, commissioning in the Army from West Point, assignment to the Philippines in 1939 as an infantry officer, the start of the war, withdrawal to Bataan and the ensuing battle and surrender, the Bataan Death March, internment at Cabanatuan, transfer to Osaka, experiences there in internment at a factory labor camp, liberation, organizing the evacuation of POWs, returning to the US, and his postwar career.

Interview with Raymond F. "Hap" Halloran, businessman and U.S. Army Air Force WWII Veteran (878th Bomb Squadron, 499th Bomb Group, 73rd Bomb Wing, 20th Air Force) concerning his experiences as a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese during World War II.

Interview with Walter Palmer, an employee with Kaiser Permanente from Kansas City, Missouri, who worked with the Kaiser-Prudential joint venture in Texas insurance during the 1980s. Palmer discusses his background and joining Kaiser, the start of the venture, people involved, financial and managerial arrangements, group practice, facilities, difficulties with servicing the DFW area, and some reflections on his time in the business.

Interview with William J. Lawson, a former executive assistant to Governor W. Lee O'Daniel, who was the former Secretary of State for Texas. In the interview, Mr. Lawson, who is from Austin, Texas, discusses his appointment as executive assistant to O'Daniel in 1941. He also describes his role and associations with the administration at the time, as well as his impressions of O'Daniel. Mr. Lawson expresses his personal views and experiences when it comes to relations between O'Daniel and the Legislature, the Democratic State Executive Committee, patronage, the Senate, and also when O'Daniel was appointed Secretary of State.
