Photograph of strip pits spoils coming back naturally to native grasses. Coal was stripped from this area in the early 1940s. The area was aerially-seeded to sweet clover around 1950 and good stands were obtained and remained for 3 or 4 years. Not much sweet clover is evident at the present time.
