Andrews advises of his interest in the Abilene Ministerial Alliance due to two companies out of Anadarko being in the Abilene area. He advises of the enclosed rosters for the two companies explaining that the town and the men's officers are interested in the welfare of the men. Andrews advises of several Indians belonging to the company and suggests, for unusual entertainment, that they be asked to perform some dances in their costumes. He gives assurance they are not looking for special attention for these men acknowledging their understanding that there are 19,000 men that need the attention of the Abilene community. The attached rosters are of Company "F" 120th Quartermaster Regiment and of Battery "B" 158th F.A.; a penciled "a" is by the names of men who are from Anadarko . The reverse side of the roster includes handwritten names and notations. Carswell affirms to Hewlett that it is good news to know that he is coming to Abilene with the Doll House and advises of an enclosed map of the three leading department stores and a furniture store.

Carswell advises of a change in his preference regarding the flowers for the Whiteheads requesting that she select the color (if his preference of red does not work as well), the quantity and the placement in the home. Carswell advises Crane regarding the corner stone taken from Anna Hall when the building was demolished and replaced by the new Students Union Building, and he reports on contents found in a time capsule. He reminds Crane of the vote taken by the Trustees to give the corner stone to her but advises her that Mr. Caldwell suggested the stone be preserved here by placing it in an interior wall of the new building now going up. Carswell advises that they all want to do what will be most pleasing to her.

He encourages Daniel to run for governor promising his support and efforts in Taylor county and the surrounding area. Carswell advises Daniel that Texas needs him in Texas for the next few years.

Carswell discusses his opinon of the "five year rule"and "circumstances of some particular need" from White's letter of December 2, 1953 as it applies to a request for a full pardon and restoration.

He advises Morrow to write to each a personal letter telling them of his prospective senatorial candidacy. Carswell promises, "I shall do all I possibly can to accomplish your election to the U. S. Senate in the firm belief in so doing I shall have served well my state and nation."
