A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from J. D. Sandefer, Jr., Breckenridge, Texas dated August 15, 1949. Sandefer makes a request that Carswell give some thought to the wording for a plaque to be placed in his Dad's building [Sandefer Memorial Library]. He advises Carswell that he will be in Colorado for a week as the guest of Gene Holman and would appreciate having something from Carswell when he returns. He advises that Dr. Hill of Nashville has accepted their invitation to make the main address. The reverse side of the letter includes notes regarding S. K. McCulloch; phone number 2-0735, address 1101 No. 18th.

Thomas advises Turner that his letter to Colonel Banister has been referred to him for reply assuring Turner that The Department appreciates his unselfish services and suggests that he write to Captain Vernon L. Yearby, Chaplain 4th Battalion, Clint, Texas.

Letter from W. N. Tindell to LeRoy Menzing discussing the issue of drilling on small tracts in Texas. He says the drilling of such tracts is handled by the Railroad Commission under Rule 31; He thinks the rule is being abused by professionals nicknamed the 'Rule 37 Operators' and hopes the Railroad Commission addresses it.
