A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from, James W. Middleton, First Baptist Church, San Angelo, Texas, dated July 15, 1942. Middleton assures Carswell that he and the pastor of the First Christian Church want to have a campaign under Carswell's leadership but advises that some preachers will not take a stand. In a postscript Middleton advises of a sermon the deacons are publishing to build sentiment against this "terrible business".
