The Oklahoma City Symphony played its first pair of Young People's Concerts to a well chilled audience. The players, chilled as well, will repeat the concerts Thursday and Friday and future concerts will be held in the new Civic Center Music Hall opening January 22. Plywood was placed over the ice hockey rink for the symphony. The student crowd was limited to 3,000 as this is the approximate capacity of the new music hall. By week's end, 18,000 students will have attended."

Actually it was used hay from the recent rodeo at the State Fair Arena which covered an arean 200 feet square. The hay ignited around noon and firemen rushed to the scene, fighting the blaze for about 2 hours. They finally decided to let the hay burn off and stood by to control the fire."
