A letter written to Dad [T. N. Carswell] from "Baby Doll" [Peggy Carswell], Balch Hall, dated July 14, 1944. Peggy Carswell advises that she always has so much to say but never writes it down and expresses her regret that she is not able to talk to Carswell about everything such as the future, her idea of going to the Panama Canal Zone and her job for next year because he always listens to her and points out things that she has not yet thought of then discusses the matter "savily"comparing how she and her mother fight over unimportant things such as that she dropped, not failed, Shakespeare because she was taking 18 hours and needed to drop to 15 hours. She lists her responsibilities as Stage Manager of the Drama Club, requests that he not tell Mother about the job she will have at $10 a week for the summer and asks what he thinks about her working. She compliments Carswell's letters, specifically his command of language, and comments on the letter that he wrote to the President, agreeing with him regarding his opinion of a fourth term for Roosevelt.
