A newsletter, Education Week, Editorial Project in Education, Vol. 9, No. 1. "In Connecticut, Moving Past Pencil and Paper, Teachers Evaluated On Class Behavior." Fifty-five educators were learning a new language of assessment, and the new assessments for teachers and students were pioneered in Connecticut. Connecticut introduces what is said to be the nation's most rigorous assessment of entry-level teachers. The assessment will be administered, six times a year, to new teachers. The implementation is a new form of measuring how teachers perform the complex tasks of their profession.

The letter is in regards to previous correspondence between Wilkie and Davis about the foundation grant support and how the Director of the foundation did not find it possible to approve a grant in support of the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts program.

The responsibilities of being leader, include creating agendas in collaborations with group members, work with Rosenberg on finalizing agendas, lead group discussions and present cross-site issues raised in discussions.

A memo from Vicki Rosenberg, program officer for the Getty Center for Education in the Arts, to participants in the February 1-4, 1990 Regional Institute Team Meeting. The memo is in regards to the Center's expectations of each of the organizations comprising the regional institute consorts in making significant contributions to the development and on-going refinement of the regional institute programs. The February meeting will begin with a reception and dinner, where they will hear presentations from each project museum representatives.

Broadus mentions that a lot of art related activities could be made with the pieces from the museum's collection, and enclosed information Sellmeyer could use as she begins to think about developing teacher packets.

Thanking Crutsinger to allowing Broadus to visit her classroom, she enjoyed working with her students and seeing their participation in the art session. Broadus writes that she is interested in continuing the writing and art correlation and thinking of ways to make abstract concepts work with first grade children, when she visits Pilot Point again she'll want to discuss ideas with Crutsinger.

Attached to the memorandum are three sheets of expenses with the grand total listed as 10,648.79. At the top of the document are the words "Acct: Art-o-gram Burger King".

The memo is in regards to the cross-site report that Vicki Rosenberg has sent a copy out to everyone. The report it titled, "A Cross-site Evaluation of Discipline-Based Art Education Staff Development Institutes and Implementation Processes in Florida, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas: Spring and Summer, 1991." A handwritten note on the memo reads, Bill: Would you please get Sack's copy to him? Brent."

Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, Project Coordinator of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts to Museum Educations, in regards to the NTIEVA Newsletter. Reynolds requests of the museums educators, contributions for the newsletters: regular columns, details about an exhibit, education programs or guests speakers. Reynolds writes that they're trying to publish four newsletters a year so she would like their contributions or articles as soon as possible. Reynolds has also included a call for "The Docent Educator" and has included with her letter their guidelines for submissions.

A news release in regards to the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation awarding $225,000 in grants to the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts at the University of North Texas. The document goes into further details about the breakdown of the grant money and what it use is for.

A memo from Nancy Reynolds, project coordinator for North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Barry Wagner and Ron Huebner. The memo is in regards to the North Texas and Nebraska Teleworkshop. Lynda Alford, art supervisors, has given Reynolds dates for videotaping art specialists and the classrooms with the teachers and art specialists. Reynolds needs to know if the dates are possible since Wagner and Huebner need to go through the proper channels.
