The memo is in regards to the North Texas and Nebraska Teleworkshop. Lynda Alford, art supervisors, has given Reynolds dates for videotaping art specialists and the classrooms with the teachers and art specialists. Reynolds needs to know if the dates are possible since Wagner and Huebner need to go through the proper channels.

A letter from William McCarter, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Leilani Lattin Duke, director of the Getty Center for Education in the Arts. The letter is personal exchange from McCarter to Duke, with McCarter using in-formalities and jest. McCarter writes that he has been asked to chair a panel for a Teacher / Docent conference at the National Gallery of Art, he also thanks Duke for the lead in regard to the proposal for a video disc on aesthetics. After talking with Same Howe, Simon and Shcuster, the suggested idea would take a least a million dollars to put together an interactive disc as complex as the aesthetics proposal. The article mentions Patsy and Raymond Nasher, who for the past forty-years have been building a contemporary sculpture collection. An evening with Raymond Nasher who lectured at the Eagle Student Services Building Lecture Hall brought many people to listen as the lecture was the installment of the Patsy and Raymond Nasher Lecture Series in Contemporary Sculpture and Criticism. Dr. Jack Davis, dean of the College of Visual Arts, anticipates that this annual event will become one of the premier lectures series on a international basis.

The memo is in regards to the Rosenberg's appointment of the named individuals as leaders of the Affinity teams, in order to strengthen the discussions of the group meetings. The responsibilities of being leader, include creating agendas in collaborations with group members, work with Rosenberg on finalizing agendas, lead group discussions and present cross-site issues raised in discussions.

A memo from Brent Wilson, to the Directors of the Getty Center Regional Staff Development Institutes. The memo is in regards to the cross-site report that Vicki Rosenberg has sent a copy out to everyone. The report it titled, "A Cross-site Evaluation of Discipline-Based Art Education Staff Development Institutes and Implementation Processes in Florida, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas: Spring and Summer, 1991." A handwritten note on the memo reads, Bill: Would you please get Sack's copy to him? Brent."

A memo from A. Graham Down, Chair of the Music Educators National Conference, MENC, to the National Committee for Standards in the Arts. The memo is in regards to the participants of the National Committee meeting who were unable to share all of their insights due to time constraints. For this reason, Down's is requesting that they submit their written responses concerning questions on the agenda. Also in the memo, Down's has listened the small group appointment to act as liaison between the National Committee and the task forces.

A newspaper clipping featuring an article about Fort Worth ISD being high in art education grades. The article goes into the fact that arts education has been around since the 1950s but there never has been such an interest until now, art education is being re-examined. Art is being viewed as important to all students as a means of enchaining learning and other disciplines such as math and science. The article continues into the hard work that Getty Center and the education reformation program has undergone to see changes in the schools curriculum.

A newsletter, Education Week, Editorial Project in Education, Vol. 9, No. 1. "In Connecticut, Moving Past Pencil and Paper, Teachers Evaluated On Class Behavior." Fifty-five educators were learning a new language of assessment, and the new assessments for teachers and students were pioneered in Connecticut. Connecticut introduces what is said to be the nation's most rigorous assessment of entry-level teachers. The assessment will be administered, six times a year, to new teachers. The implementation is a new form of measuring how teachers perform the complex tasks of their profession.

Since their meeting of November 7th, they've given serious considerations to the topics discussed upon the AP goals and objectives for art history and studio art and are enclosing an analysis of the goals and objectives for O'Donnell's review. Enclosed with the letter are an Essential Elements chart, Observations on Content and Structure and Logistical Observations for the AP.
