Patent for a coin operated vending machine that is meant to be inexpensive and adapted to protect the items being vended, and to allow adjustment for coins of different denominations.

Patent for a new and improved combined hook and buckle. This design "protect[s] straps from wear at the point of attachment to or contact with rings or eyes" (lines 12-14). This patent references another, the invention of which this one is intended to supplement.

Patent for an improvement to railway switches, by creating an automatic switch that changes the direction of a track from object while object is moving on track.

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad-cars. This design consists in "an ordinary draw-head provided with the usual pin-and-link coupling [that] can be readily and cheaply adapted for use as an automatic coupling. The invention consists in the combination, with a slotted draw-head and a coupling-pin swinging therein and provided with pivotal supports or trunnions, of a vertically-projecting and axially-rotatable guide loop or staple arranged on each side of the pin-slot and adapted to hold the pin from being jolted out of the draw-head, and to permit its withdrawal" (lines 9-20).

Patent for improvements in oil burners to have the "means to permit the same to be positioned within the fire box of a stove, by means of the especially constructed support." (lines 12-15)

Patent for an improved and simple automatic machine for stuffing mattresses that is similar to previous patents granted to the inventor (Nos. 376,399 and 399,093). The mattresses can be of different widths.

Patent for a liquid fuel burner that mixes air with the fuel.

Patent for a lock mortiser. The object of this invention "is to provide a light, portable machine arranged to be clamped to the work piece, so that the lock mortise as well as the key hole and the bolt opening may be conveniently cut with one adjustable of the machine" (lines 11-15). Patent for improvements in extracting essences from objects inserted into a new contraption. The patent includes instructions and an illustration.

Patent for a stamp sticking or sealing machine that is meant "to provide a device with a moistening pad capable of applying moisture to the mucilage of the stamps, and with a guide or way through which the stamps may be passed, and by which they are guided to and past the moistening pad; and the invention consists in certain novel features of construction whereby the device is made capable of easier manipulation, whereby it may be held in one hand so as to cause the stamps to make contact with the pad, thus leaving the other hand of the operator free to draw the stamps over the pad and to affix them" (lines 8-21).

Patent for improvements in sofas and similar articles. The improvements have guide-strips on the ends, with blocks that fit over the guide-strips. The upper side has a double set of ratchet-teeth, and they can be used to tighten a woven-wire fabric that sits below the cushions and is held in place by the blocks.

Patent for a rubber shoe sole and heel which is adapted to be readily attached to the welt of a hand-sewed or Goodyear rubber shoe, including illustrations. The rubber shoe sole and heel is designed to bring the tread surface of the heel-piece in proper alignment with the tread-face of the sole-piece with a flange around it to facilitate connection to the welt of the shoe.

Patent for a cotton-planting machine which "consists in a distributing-drum, having seed-openings through it, and inclined distributing-agitators inside of it, said drum being applied to turn in a frame which is pivoted to the beam of a shovel-plow, whereby the roller will accommodate itself to inequalities of surface passed over, and uniformly discharge the seed in the drill-rows, after which a drag or coverer will cover up the seed." Patent for certain new and useful improvements in railroad gates, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved dumping wagon. This design is "to provide a double dump for carrying dirt, sand, gravel, and other loose material on ordinary road-wagons, together with mechanism for instantly unloading the same" (lines 8-12). To this end, it consists "of a frame, double dumping-boxes swinging upon axles, and a U-shaped dumping lever, said lever provided with points extending slightly beyond its axis" (lines 90-93).
