The Midwest City woman married American Dan A. Sims at 18 and came to U. S. and gave birth to Laura Jean, but scarcely spoke any English when Sims suddenly abandoned her and took the baby. Mrs. Sims lived with a sister and brother-in-law in Midwest City, while attempting to right the situation. Assoc. Dist. Judge John Amick awarded the woman custody of the child, and ordered Sims to pay $100 child support to her each week."
