He requests the opportunity to make a presentation to the NAACP, so that the BCMM may receive support for their ongoing dispute with KAPE radio, which they have consistently criticized for discrediting the African-American community.

Some suggestions are proposed, including a counter demonstration, but the letter requests collective agreement.

Letter from Charlene Doria Ortiz to Texas Links Members discussing the partnership between The Links, Inc. and the Drug Abuse Prevention Division of the Texas Department of Community Affairs. The two organizations partnered for a training session on drug abuse prevention in African-American communities. Ortiz was very pleased with the training session and would like additional feedback from attendees.

This letter from American Airlines to Western Area Director of The Links, Inc. Doris McCarroll gives confirmation that American Airlines will serve as the official airline for the 28th Western Area Conference of The Links, Inc. in Waco, Texas. The letter outlines the promotions that conference attendees will enjoy if they choose to fly with American Airlines.

Letter from Mary P. Travers, vice president of the Alice B. Theatre, to Sterling Houston, prominent San Antonio playwright. She writes to inform him that the artistic director position he applied for at the theatre was given to another finalist. Specializing in gay and lesbian issues, the theatre encourages him to keep in touch.

Letter from Deborah and Navarra Williams to Dr. Barbara A. Lawrence announcing that Aaronetta Pierece has been selected to receive an award from the San Antonio Area Council of Girl Scouts. They would like Lawrence who, like Pierce, is a member of The Links, Inc. to join the planning committee for a dinner which the council will hold in Pierce's honor. Also included is an explanation of the Trefoil Award that Pierce will receive and a reply form.
