Caption: "Two Students Are Hurt in Crash, NORMAN-- two University of Oklahoma students were injured, neither critically, in a one-car crash near fraternity row early Friday. Norman police said the driver, Thomas Kanard, Muskogee, Student, was driving south on Elm street about 1 a.m. when the crash missed a curve, bounced over a curb, and rolled 185 feet across an open field before landing upside down. Injured were Pat Smith, 18, Bartlesville, And Jim Byrne, 22, Tulsa, Both transferred to Wesley hospital in Oklahoma City. Smith suffered head and wrist cuts and possible leg injuries and Byrne was under treatment foe shock and a hip dislocation. Kanard escaped injury. Police who said the driver was either drowsing at the wheel or driving at high speed, recorded his arrest for reckless driving. OU Student's car which missed curve near campus."
