Patent for an invention to aid in the treatment of treating timber. The invention is said to "provide a simple, inexpensive, durable, and efficient apparatus by means of which railroad cross-ties, fence-posts, and the like may be expeditiously and economically treated by immersion in a bath of some preserving liquid" (lines 16-22) including illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved cuff button and holder. This design consists in "[a] cuff button and holder having in combination a shank-plate, two buttons, one attached at each end of the shank-plate, and a clamp-bar, one end of which is for attachment to the shirt-sleeve, and the other end having a device to couple with said shank-plate" (lines 1-6).

Patent for a simple, efficient, and improved churn that thoroughly aerating and stirring the cream. It has a removable vertical dasher and two dasher cups.

Patent for a churn that can be easily disassembled and cleaned easily. The churn is a circular chamber with a tube in its center. The tube has a fan around it at the top of the chamber, and the air goes through the fan, is sucked into the tube, and is released at the bottom of the chamber in order to agitate the cream.

Patent for an invention "to provide a simple, light, and durable implement which will effectually remove weeds, rubbish, and all foreign matter simultaneously from each side of a row or drill of corn, cotton, or other plants and direct the removed material to the longitudinal center of the row or drill" (lines 8-14).

Patent for "a process for hardening or partly solidifying to any required degree substances such as liquid or viscid bitumens, tars, or asphaltums, either natural or artificial" (lines 8-12). It hardens bitumens without evaporating oils and leaves them solid when cooled.

Patent for a new and useful improvements in nailing-machines. This design is "adapted to automatically distribute and feed the nails to a predetermined point" (line 10-12).

Patent for certain new and useful improvements in trolley poles, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved nut and washer combination. This design consists, "with a threaded end on an axle-spindle, which is longitudinally grooved on opposite sides of the thread, and a radially-flanged nut made to engage the threaded-end of the spindle, of a cap-ring having an annular recess formed on one side from its inner edge outwardly, said ring being secured upon the radial flange of the nut, and a cylindrical outer shell having an inwardly-extended flange on one end, and ears on the edge of said flange, which hook over the reduced edge of the cap-ring" (lines 20-31).

Patent for a strap to attach an animal to a hitching-post, especially a smooth one, to avoid slipping or accidental loosening by the animal with "an improved slidable catch" (line 18).
