Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "It's not so much what you do. It's where you do it. L. J. Lippert, 1720 NW 29, brick foreman on the Oklahoma City Universtiy Gold star Memorial building project, would seem yo be engaged in a safe, and down-to-earth job of bricklaying and plastering. The truth is a slight sistep or a strong gust of wind could be his downfall. That's because he's 275 feet straight up laying the base for the big, lighted gold star. The canvas shelter is to ward off the cold."

Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Nearly empty cattle pens tell the story of why your butcher expects a beef shortage in the near future. This was the picture Tuesday in Oklahoma City's stockyards, where cattle numbers were down to 2,993 plus 575 calves for the first two "big market days" of the week, compared with 5,436 catle and 640 calves on the same two days last year. Even without government price cellings, of course, there are always a few empty pens in the city's huge "cattle hotel." Then, too, this is normally a season of smaller markets. But there's more to it than bad weather, the picture at the bottom of the page clearly shows, with more cattle on the farms than ever before in history. The same story is repeated on the 12 major markets in the nation."
