Attached to the letter is a copy of the new release from the Nation Gallery in Washington, D.C. Reynolds writes that they will be one of the recipients of the American Art videodisc and that she encourages other school districts to apply as there are a number of spots still available and the Gallery has extended their deadline. Enclosed with the letter is a Call For Entry Letter from the National Gallery.

Photocopy of a letter from Jack Davis, Bill McCarter and Nancy Reynolds, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Dr. Dean Anthony, Denton ISD. Asking if he recalls the lasting Advisory Committee meeting they had in which they set two priority goals. Their first goal to seek continued support for their Portfolio project and their second, to generate potential names for additional committee members. In the letter Davis, McCarter and Reynolds are pleased to report that the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation has agreed to fully fund the portfolio project and it will be underway once their Summer Institute project is over. In the letter, they ask Anthony if he has any recommendations for committee members and to contact them through note of phone call. Additionally in the letter are details about the Institute's schedule for the summer, and a formal invitations for Anthony to join any them if his schedules allows.

Iin regards of Dallas' participation in the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. McCarter and Cason write that after reviewing their budget they have found that they will be able to fund one team from DISD at 100% for the first year at the Institute, yet after one year they are unsure that they'll be able to get more funding from the Getty Center to allow Dallas as a consortium. Included at the end of the letter is a mock-up of what Dallas will be entitled to during their Summer institute Services.

[Letter from Hamilton K. Redway to Loriette Redway, May 8, 1865]

A letter from Hamilton K. Redway at Kelly's Creek in West Virginia to his wife, Loriette Redway, on May 8, 1865. In the letter, Hamilton Redway expresses his concern for his wife's health and asks about her father. Redway says that he is glad to hear that Loriette received the money he sent, and that he may send another two or three hundred dollars to Mr. Baker. He mentions that he has been away from the South for so long, that he would rather live in New York state than in the South. Also included with this item is the envelope in which the letter was sent. The envelope is addressed to Mrs. H. K. Redway in Mannsville, New York.

Letter from O.G. Bacon to Hamilton K. Redway which discusses the the current happenings in Bacon's life and in the county he lives in. He tell Redway of a job offer he has taken and of the bountiful wheat and fruit crops. Bacon furthers that the two should continue to correspond to one another. In the letter's closing, he and his wife send their love to Redway's wife and family. Bacon wrote this letter to Redway while he was living in Rheatown, Tennessee.

[Letter from H. S. Schell to Capt. T. C. Kendall, March 8, 1865]

Letter from Assistant surgeon H.S. Schell to Capt. T.C. Kendall requesting the descriptive list of Private Mauz. V.V. Washburn. A descriptive list is a soldier's record which documents his medical history, physical description, as well as clothing accounts and deposits. In this case, Schell would be requesting his medical history, but would receive an all-encompassing descriptive list of Private Washburn. Schell states that two application requests have been made for this soldier's descriptive list: one on October 24, 1864 and the other on January 24, 1865. He notes that the Cuyler Hospital has yet to receive the requested descriptive list.
