Hartman states in his letter that the planning for the 2007 legislative session will being in January, as as first time chairman Hartman wanted to know how they members are able to help. The first Legislative Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for December 7 in Austin. Hartman ends the letter by stating he looks forward to working on the important issues with the members.

Letter from Charles Moser, TDNA President, to the TDNA publishers, executives and administrative staff, on January 8, 2007 with the subjects Pat Taggart Award for Newspaper Leader of the Year and Frank Mayborn Award for Community Leadership. The letter is in regards to TDNA needed to receive nominations for the Pat Taggart Award and the Frank Mayborn Award, and that the deadline has been extended to January 31, 2006.

Gary Borders has been nominated president, Nelson Clyde IV has been elected vice president, Darrell Coleman as treasurer, and Charles Moser as the chairman of the TDNA directors. The directors currently are, Stephen A. Beasley, Patrick J. Birmingham, M. Olaf Frandsen, Belinda Gaudet and Matt Oliver with three spots being vacant.

Texas Daily Newspaper Associations' honors editorial interns who worked with The Dallas Morning News and the Houston Chronicle in the summer of 2008 with awards. Rachel Slade who interned at The Dallas Morning News has received $250 dollar sand the H.M. Fentress Award, runner-up Michell Casady, a Houston Chronicle intern received $100 and a plaque. The document details why Slade and Casady have won the awards and their services provided to the newspaper companies.
