Carswell advises Page regarding a copy of a report of Veterans Assistance that was given to Major Fellbaum on November 29. He advises that the prime purpose of the report is to awaken interest in every Local Board of the added new duties regarding war veterans. He adds a Season's Greeting, confides he has received a report of his nephew as MIA over Germany, and advises of the change in his work hours due to his recuperation time away from his job due to dental work. There is a handwritten note to Col. [L. C. Taylor] from Carswell, at the top left of page. Carswell explains that this is a copy of the letter he sent to General Page. A handwritten reply from Lt. Col. Taylor, at the top right of page, expresses his appreciation for Carswell's effort, his hope that Carswell's effort secures the desired results, and an advisement that Lt. Col. Wakefield thinks well of Carswell.

A letter addressed to the Secretary of State, Austin, Texas, Att: Miss Pauline Kirk, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman Taylor County Parole Board, dated February 8, 1951. Carswell requests help from the State of Texas in the retrieval of carpentry tools and funds from the State of California belonging to Subject A 9803.

Carswell suggests that a district membership conference be arranged to be held during the convention and be comprised of one buddy from each post in the district.

Carswell requests the shipping of a telescope to Masters Bill and Tom Peacock to be prepaid and insured. He advises that two items are for himself and to fill in the enclosed check for the proper amount sending to him a covering statement.

A letter written to "Aun't Virginia" [Byrdie Carswell] and "Uncle Norwood" [T. N. Carswell] from Tom & Virginia, Tampa, Florida, dated April 8, 1969. Tom and Virginia offer their greetings to the Carswells, ask after their health and note that they do not hear from anyone at the old home place in Georgia.

Walton acknowledges a telephone conversation with Carswell and includes the address of Dr. Allen J. Moon as per the request from Carswell noting that Dr. Moon might appreciate a card for his 93rd birthday. Notation handwritten by Carswell indicates he sent a card to Dr. Moon on September 9, 1966.

A letter written to Mother [Eula Clark], Albuquerque, New Mexico from [Worth Clark, Jr.], dated December 8, 1948. Worth Clark describes his jobs of coaching and refereeing and that he is considering staying in the Army. He advises that Eula Clark needs to move to where he is to save money and be near hospital. Clark acknowledges, in a postscript, of the receipt of Eula's letters before he mailed this letter noting that it looked as though their minds were running in the same channel. He restates the efficiency of them sharing living space and expenses, that if a girl comes along they would decide then what to do.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Wright Morrow, Houston, Texas, dated March 8, 1957. Announcement by Morrow of his decision not to file in the Senate race due to the confusion surrounding the vacated seat and the division of political sentiment of the Democratic political philosophy in Texas. He expresses his appreciation for Carswell's support and help and advises of his preference to not make any recommendations of support for any one of the other candidates.
