Roberts presents to Carswell the list of names of officers elected at a meeting held in Haskell: Montgomery, R. C., Couch, R. C., Williams, Rev. C. W., Short, Aubrey, Rule, Terry, Pierson, A. C. He notes there was a nice crowd and explains that R. C. Montgomery, who was elected Chairman, was many years earlier the Chairman of the first Local Option Campaign in Haskell.

A letter written to Raymond W. Foy, The News, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated September 7, 1942. Carswell requests information from Foy as to where to find the amount of money spent on advertising by the Beverage Alcohol people.

A letter addressed to Rev. Jeff Davis, United Texas Drys, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman United Texas Drys, dated October 7, 1942. Carswell recounts events of a meeting in Lubbock, advises of pledge cards received for a Field Day to be held in Lubbock and emphasizes that the churches are anxious to have Davis and Bishop Boaz attend their Field Day. Typewritten at the top of the letter is a list of Lubbock area churches and organizations.

A form letter from T. N. Carswell, Chairman 24th Senatorial District and Taylor County Drys, dated June 7, 1945. Carswell endorses the suggestion by Secretary McKinzie which encourages pastors to observe Father's Day as a "Field Day for Righteousness" and to consider including United Texas Drys in the church budget.

A Western Union telegram sent to T. N. Carswell, Post Commander Parramore Post 57, American Legion, from Morris Sheppard, Washington D.C., dated January 7, 1941. Sheppard confirms that he has commended Mrs. E. Lillius for the appointment Carswell "mentioned" [for the position of hostess at Camp Barkeley].

Wagstaff, 24th Dist. Committeeman. Carswell commends Morrow for maintaining the integrity of his status as National Democratic Committeeman from Texas.

A letter written to R. M. Wagstaff, Abilene, Texas, from Tom Connally, United States Senate, dated July 7, 1941. Connally refers to a letter from Wagstaff and advises that Mayor La Guardia has intimated to him that his plans of organization have not yet matured.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell from Ed Hildebrand, Midland, Texas, dated February 7, 1953. Hildebrand advises of his plans to visit that week but that it is not a promise due to his having three houses going up now and that he hopes to get two ready for plaster this week.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Mrs. Glyn (Ethel) Quade, Sagerton, Texas, dated May 7, 1970. Quade expresses her wish to see him and Mrs. Carswell again and, also, expresses her appreciation for the Ideals subscription. She asks what is happening to our beautiful America, land of the free, discussing the student unrest not only on the campuses at Lawrence, Kansas where Larry attends and at the University of Texas where Lyndell attends but all over the country pointing to the war and draft as a continual dread for students. She advises that Glyn is doing fairly well, the Jack Quades are all right and asks after Mrs. Carswell.

A letter written to Tommy Carswell from Jake [J. D. Sandefer, Jr.], Breckenridge, Texas, dated July 7, 1972. Sandefer expresses his appreciation to Carswell for his presence during his sad hours. He speaks of his Carrie Lynn as a gallant lady and tells Carswell that he has always felt like he was one of the family.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from J. D. Sandefer, Jr., Breckenridge, Texas dated September 7, 1948. Sandefer replies to a letter from Carswell regarding the envelope type and script approval for the invitations for the Hunter Hall dedication.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from J. D. Sandefer, Jr., Breckenridge, Texas dated September 7, 1971. Sandefer expresses his appreciation to Carswell for the clipping from "days of old". He recalls that he used, in his speech at the inauguration of Dr. White, practically everything Carswell said and would always recall "what a hard time I had with the final words when I passed the torch from one hand to another".

Carswell explains his use of generic paper due to his exhausted supply of report forms, and submits a report listing the names of subjects who reported for the month of April, 1955 noting that their parole status is regular.

A letter and final report to the State Board of Parole and Probation, Salem, Oregon, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Voluntary Parole Board dated February 7, 1959. Carswell advises the Board of an attached copy of the last required report from Subject OSP 22624. He expresses his faith in his conviction regarding Subject "that his forward pathway would be straight", and he expresses his appreciation for their responses to his inquiries which helped him to help Subject. The attachment includes a Final Report letter addressed to Gentlemen--Oregon State Board of Parole and Probation, Salem, Oregon from parolee, Abilene, Texas dated February 4, 1959. Subject OSP 22624 expresses his appreciation for his Discharge from Parole and discourses on his life and family situation since moving to Texas, the successes and the trials endured. He advises of his only fear being of the impact that his record might have on his son's ambitions to become an ensign in the U. S. Navy via an appointment to Annapolis. A certificate of release issued by the Texas Prison System, O. B. Ellis, General Manager, Huntsville, Texas. The certificate grants a 90-day emergency reprieve and is dated January 7, 1952 Per J. M. Metts, Chief for J. C. Roberts, Chief.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Commander Parramore Post 57, The American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Fred E. Young, Department Adjutant, Austin, Texas, dated August 7, 1941. Young provides information regarding the assignment of a room, touches on a possible membership contest and commends Carswell for the fine spirit he has always shown in the Legion work.

A letter written to Thos. N. Carswell, Major, Infantry Commanding Tenth Battalion, Abilene, Texas, from A. H. Dennison, Captain, Inf. 34th Battalion Staff, Texas Defense Guard, Odessa, Texas, dated November 7, 1941. Dennison acknowledges his receipt of the invitation from Carswell to attend the Armistice Day program but declines the invitation due to previous arrangements.

A form letter from W. J. Wisdom, 17th Dist. Commander, The American Legion, Stephenville, Texas, dated August 7, 1942. Wisdom advises of the selection of Carswell as a member of the Department Convention Committee on Rules, and stresses that attendance at the convention is important.
