Woolridge advises Headquarters of the resignation of Mrs. Longnecker requesting that an inspector "come out and check over" their Board and give recommendations. Page handwrites, in red pencil, orders to send CAS [T. N. Carswell] to El Paso No. 4. A handwritten note at the top of the telegram is in regards to Mrs. Rose D. Longnecker.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Hallsville, Texas, dated July 6, 1943. Davis discusses his conference with Drs. McConnell and Atwood [F. M. McConnell, Julian Atwood] confiding that they were "very anxious" to get Carswell to "take up and carry on" and offers his support if Carswell joins them. Davis handwrites a postscript advising that "we have two Jeff Davises here" and requests that Carswell be sure to include the box number on the envelope.

Walter on the duties of Clerical Audit Supervisor.

Carswell orders two sets of Application Forms for employment to replace the sets he gave to the Dallas Board and advises of being shorted one copy of Form 57 in the sets that were sent to him in Laredo.

A letter addressed to The President of the United States, The White House, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, dated July 6, 1944. Carswell begins by stating that he trusts the President will comprehend the spirit prompting this letter and confirms that the President has the support of the congress but notes a trend among the people themselves that is deeply forboding, a public opinion which might circumvent and nullify the President's leadership. Carswell recommends Roosevelt not run for re-election but be the country and the world's ambassador for universal peace. "Mr. President, to few men has come the opportunity and necessity to make such a decision. May you, under God, make the right one."

Connally expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell and advises that he is pleased to know that Carswell secured the information regarding a Veterans Hospital for Texas and that Mrs. Carr served him.
