Abstract: Various procedures for extracting uranium from fiberglass air filters have been tested and compared. Satisfactory results which involve the least amount of handling are obtained by simply washing the material with hot 1:1 hydrochloric acid.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Office of the General of the Armies, G. E. Adamson, Colonel, U.S.A., Ret'd, Military Secretary, Washington, dated December 5, 1941. Adamson explains that General Pershing directed him to acknowledge the letter from Carswell requesting his opinion of Americanism and that he commends the campaign but declines to respond to any requests citing that too many were received to be able answer them all.
