Robert William Hiller, 23, Chicago (above) was rushed to Tinker Field hospital suffering internal injuries. Patrol Trooper Johnny Edwards said Hiller, being transferred from Fort Bliss to Fort Dix, missed a traffic sign and was struck broadside by another automobile which in turn struck a third vehicle. Billy F. Wynns, 18, of 2417 SE 15, passenger in another car was treated at Mercy hospital and released. Hiller's wife suffered minor bruises."

Caption: "Three Escape Death as Auto Hits Tree Three Oklahoma Cityans escaped death near Hartshorne when this car went out of control, skidded 219 feet, overturned and struck a large tree. The tree crashed through the car, shattering the windshield. The car was driven by David C. Hadaway, 48, of 1027 Lackey drive. His wife was taken to a McAlester hospital suffering internal injuries and Hadaway was struck on the shoulder by part of the tree. Top picture shows the front end of the car and the bottom picture shows the interior of the car. Their small son was hospitalized but later released."
