He advises Shivers that to carry on they must have him and another good man as candidates for Governor and U. S. Senator emphasizing that "Texas and the Nation are in need of you!"

A letter written to "Norwood" [Mr. T. N. Carswell], Abilene, Texas from Clarence O. Little, Vice President, The Atlantic National Bank of Jacksonville, Jacksonville 1, Florida, dated September 5, 1950. Little expresses his disappointment that he missed him when Carswell was in Jacksonville.

The letter includes a notification by Carswell of a Committee meeting to be held on June 12 and a list of ideas pertaining to permanently recording names of contributors to Hendrick Memorial Hospital.

A letter written to the Chairman of the Oregon Board of Parole and Probation, Salem, Oregon, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County, Texas, Vountary Parole Board, dated December 5, 1958. Report and recommendation for executive clemency for Subject OSP 22,624. Carswell refers to the attached letter of Subject's own appeal for executive clemency stating his approval of the request both in his "official capacity and personally".

Kirk acknowledges receipt of the letter from Carswell dated December 1 concerning Subject and advises that a copy of the letter and enclosures were sent to Mr. Walter A. Gordon, who is Chairman of the California Adult Authority.

Stone) from Howard Carney (by Betty Christian, Chief, Parole Division), Austin, Texas, dated June 5, 1953. Christian advises Stone regarding a monthly report with a recommendation for a Full Pardon and Restoration. A second correspondence typewritten at the bottom of the page to Mr. Carswell from B C [Betty Christian] is an expression of appreciation by Christian for the supervision of Subject by Carswell.

LeA lter written to Allen N. Carswell from his brother Norwood [T. N. Carswell], dated September 5, 1957. T. N. Carswell requests that Allen Carswell destroy this letter after reading whether or not he sees fit to use the suggestion in whole or in part. T. N. expresses his enjoyment of their last visit confiding that he felt they were more like brothers than ever before. He offers options for Allen regarding the land handed down to Allen from their mother.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, from R. D. Hill, Lafayette Hotel, Little Rock, Arkansas - Los Angeles 5, California, dated January 5, 1950. Hill advises that a water softening business at Albuquerque has tentatively agreed to take on their project for distribution. He advises of a Mr. Sproul as the operating head, outlines his travel itinerary and offers best wishes to Carswell, Dalton and Mutt. In a handwritten postscript Hill acknowledges that his letter is "not very fancy written" but believes Carswell understands what he tried to say.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from M. J. Stehle, Ballinger, Texas, dated September 5, 1952. Stehle explains the check not clearing and requests that Carswell send the check back through the bank, thanking him for his kindness.
