Carswell, For the Committee, Committee on Americanism, American Legion, dated December 5, 1941. The letter discusses the promotion of a "What is Americanism?" campaign. The campaign is defined as "seeking more light in the form of a contribution", the contribution being the answer to the question, "What is Americanism?". The answer will then be used "to help stimulate an American Revival comparable in results to the periods of the Revolution, the Making of the Constitution, and the Civil War" stressing that the country's destiny depends on these answers.

Interview with E.R. (Ed) Dolinar, a serviceman with the U. S. Navy during World War II. He discusses going to boot camp, torpedo school and submarine school. He was on the SSN Stingray as a torpedo crewman that offloaded supplies and guerillas in the Philippines. It picked up stranded Japanese sailors and transported them to Australia. The Stingray was then decomissioned. He was then part of a crew that studied and stripped captured German submarines, and he discusses the differences between the U-boats and the US submarines. He also discusses the Bolomen, Filipino guerillas who fought the Japanese during the occupation. He also talks briefly about his experience of being hit with depth charges and gives his opinions on General MacArthur and President Truman.

Letter from George Cooke Brundrett to Valree Brundrett discussing his life during World War II in the Philippines. George was captured and held as a Prisoner of War in May 1942 after his battalion was ordered to surrender. He would die as a P.O.W. in July 1945.

The United States and the Republic of the Philippines maintain close ties stemming from the U.S. colonial period, the bilateral security alliance, extensive military cooperation, and common strategic and economic interests. Although the United States closed its military bases in the Philippines in 1992, the two treaty allies have continued joint military activities related to counterterrorism and maritime security. This report looks at the U.S. foreign policy towards the Philippines.
