Agreement regarding petition of Augustine Picaso versus Trustees of the Nixon Independent School District of Nixon, Texas, dated December 3, 1951. This is the rendering of final agreement following the hearing of the above petition before the Commissioner of Education of the State of Texas, J. W. Edgar. It was agreed that segregation practices in Nixon Independent School District shall cease with regards to children of Latin-American descent.

Originally enclosed with the letter was a copy of the LULAC NEWS of Santa Ana, California, which included that council's by-laws. Rodriguez is questioning the by-laws as they appear to include "secession" statements concerning LULAC.

This letter is in reply to Badge's letter of November 29, 1952 inviting Herrera to meet with the committee with regards to the Mexican government blacklisting of Brazoria County. Herrera accepts the invitation and has invited Rodolfo Rodriguez, President of the Freeport LULAC Council, and a representative of the Consul General of Mexico for Texas' office to attend. Herrera also requests that public officials of Brazoria County be in attendance to offer assurances of good faith.

McCree, President of the Board of Trustees, Pecos Independent School District in Pecos, Texas, dated February 3,1953. The letter refers to a petition received from patrons of Pecos ISD regarding segregation of children of Spanish-speaking ancestry. Ollison outlines steps the school district is to take in addressing the issues cited in the petition.

Two memorandum from Ruben Bonilla, Jr., League of United Latin American Citizens National President. The first memo, dated August 3, 1979, is directed to Members of the National Executive Board. The memo informs recipients of an application for a San Carlos LULAC chapter and request that members vote for or against the council. The second memo, dated August 7, 1979, is directed to the National Executive Board, District Directors, and Council Presidents. The memo describes Bonilla's recent meeting with President Jimmy Carter.

Letter from Alonso S. Perales to Lyle Saunders. Perales protests against the unfair views expressed by Saunders and Olen H. Leonard in the pamphlet titled: "The wetback in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas". Perales demands the names and addresses of the informants in the pamphlet.

Letter from D. F. Prince in Washington, D. C. to Felix H. Morales in Houston, Texas. Prince writes to acknowledge receipt of the Commission's form letter giving notice that Morales' application to operate on 1510 kc at Houston was placed in a pending file. The Commission will delay the application until it settled the clear channel problem and formulated new rules regarding daytime grants.

Letter from F.A. Hernandez, President of League of United Latin American Citizens Council Number 132, to Frank M. Pinedo, asking Pinedo to please "absolve Council No. 132 publicly of any connotation of guilt" in relation to a crime committed by LULAC Council No. 8. According to the letter, LULAC Council 8 Lodge was raided by the Texas Liquor Board, which found the operation of an open saloon at the LULAC lodge. This resulted in a "flow of bad publicity" as well as being "subjected to considerable embarrassment and criticism." Hernandez calls on Pinedo to take swift and "stern corrective measures" to resolve the matter of Council No. 8 to bring order and stability back to other LULAC councils as well as Council No. 132. "We cannot sacrifice our past accomplishments and future goals, because a few deviate from the only known course leading toward our Aims and Purposes."
