Patent for "a cotton-cultivator which will chop out the superfluous plants and at the same time work up the soil between the rows of plants, the implement being made to straddle the row and produce a fine tilth on both sides thereof" (lines 15-20).

Patent for a new and improved fumigator. This design "compris[es] the closed vessel mounted on legs and provided with the removable cover, the fire-box having legs resting upon the bottom of the vessel, the inlet near the bottom and the outlet near the top, and the bellow connected to the inlet" (lines 77-83).

Patent for a new and improved brace. This design consists in "[t]he combination . . . of the cistern or its equivalent having internal circumferential seats and the brace-sections having edge flanges fitted to said seats and having such flanges cut away at one end, whereby the section may fit at one end in the end of the adjacent section" (lines 30-36).

Patent for a new and improved track-walker's tool. This design "consist[s] of a sectional handle or body having a claw-bar and spiking-maul at one end and a wrench at the opposite end, the said wrench being provided with a stud upon one face, the distance between the outer face of said stud and the outer surface of the maul when the sections are joined together and the maul faces the stud being such as to correspond to the standard distance between rails" (lines 14-23).

Patent for a new and improved system of road drainage. This design is "especially . . . for use on dirt and other roads, and adapted to quickly dry the road after a heavy rainfall without disturbing the road-bed. The invention consists of a drain arranged longitudinally under the road-bed and provided with outlet-pipes placed suitable distances apart, and each adapted to be closed at its outer end, and branch air-pipes also extending from the said drain and adapted to be connected with an air-pump for pumping the air out of the drain" (lines 10-21).

Patent for a new and improved running-gear. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the front and rear axles, of the tubular connection, the connection between the tubular coupling and the head-block, formed with ears, the swiveled fifth-wheel carrying ears, the connecting-pin held in said ears, and the guard attached to the ends of the head-block, to the under side of the tubular coupling, and to the connection between the coupling and the head-block at the forward end thereof" (lines 89-98).

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design consists in "[t]he combination . . . of the main frame and plow or plows, curved plate slotted and perforated . . . and rigidly secured to said frame, a horizontal lever passing through the slot of the same and pivoted to the main frame, a spring-bolt and operating devices, a vertical bar pivotally suspended from said lever, and a carrying-wheel having one of its spindles bearing in the lower end of the bar, together with a depending bar secured rigidly to the frame and having a pivotal depending link" (lines 1-12).
