Onionskin paper carbon copy of letter from John J. Herrera, LULAC First National Vice-President, to Torivio Castillo of Pearland, Texas, dated August 2, 1950. The letter discusses starting new LULAC councils in Brazoria County, and refers to LULAC scholarships given to college-bound students.

Letter from R. D. McDonald, Investigator, located in Houston, Texas, to John J. Herrera dated January 2, 1950. McDonald is investigating non-payment of bills from two LULAC members who stayed at the Rice Hotel in January 1949. He is requesting Herrera look into the matter and have the accounts settled at once.

Letter from Charley G. Kidder of Bay City, Texas, to John J. Herrera dated September 2,1950. Kidder is asking for a donation from Herrera to pay the balance of funeral expenses for a man killed in a train accident. Herrera apparently was the attorney retained by the family.

Letter from Jesse Gonzalez of "Jesse Gonzalez and His Orchestra", San Antonio, Texas, to John J. Herrera dated October 2, 1950. This letter and accompanying envelope originally also contained copies of a contract to be signed and returned with a deposit for an upcoming event.
