Data management plan for the grant "FY2021 DARPA YFA: Next generation of wireless power transfer network of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) using electromechanical beamforming." Research aiming to develop the next generation of wireless power transfer (WPT) network that is scalable, safe, and efficient and can be deployed in a UAS by incorporating waveform engineering, electromechanical beamforming, integrated phased-array antenna, and transmitter (TX)/receiver (RX) co-design. This project aims to reveal the fundamental understanding of the energy sphere formation in a 3D space using UAVs as a case study. Although interests in radiative (far-field) WPT using beamforming has been growing rapidly because of its capability to energize a large number of autonomous devices, most of these works are still in the theoretical phase without any practical implementation. This project aims to implement a robust beamforming network using a bottom-up approach (from the antenna to the inter-connected network) that is highly important for addressing the challenges associated with a dynamically changing environment.

This article describes the recent re-design of the code and the new features and improvements in performance of PAOFLOW, a software tool that constructs tight-binding Hamiltonians from self-consistent electronic wavefunctions by projecting onto a set of atomic orbitals.

Article on the composition of the four cell wall fractions in diverse maize genotypes and to understand how this composition influences the resistance to pests, ethanol capacity and digestibility. Results evidence that there is no maize cell wall ideotype among the tested for optimal performance for various uses, and maize plants should be specifically bred for each particular application.

Article using a combination of biochemical and genetic approaches to show how ABA can regulate lignin biosynthesis. This work provides a basis for designing trees and other biomass plants that are better adapted to stress and climate change. This article includes a correction on the first page.

Article studying the influence of microwave signals of different shapes on the magnetoacoustic wave system with a giant nonlinearity in canted antiferromagnet FeBO₃ at room temperature, which is close to its phase transition to the paramagnetic state. Results represent the first observation of the macroscopic quantum statistical phenomenon, Bose-Einstein condensation of magnetoacoustic wave quanta in a wave system with a high level of thermal fluctuations.

This article presents a novel approach of introducing a weighted temporal feature to bias a topic clustering toward articles in a similar time frame, performed over a set of finance journal abstracts from 1974 to 2020 to demonstrate how time can be emphasized in trend detection. The authors detect trending finance topics that are not identifiable when we use a standard clustering approach with no temporal bias.

This article proposes a new and general goodness-of-fit (GOF) test, called TEDE (TEsting Direct Effects), applicable to both correlated and independent SNPs/IVs as commonly used in transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) and Mendelian randomization (MR) respectively.

This article examines traditional gender roles during the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic fallout as an opportunity to evaluate shifting gender dynamics amidst rapid changes in employment and domestic demands for heterosexual couples with children in Australia and the United States. The authors argue that traditional gender roles were reinforced for U.S. parents but eroded for Australian parents.

This article shows that that the coordinated read-write activity of the epigenetic machinery extends to the cytoskeleton, with PBRM1 in the PBAF chromatin remodeling complex reading microtubule methyl marks written by the SETD2 histone methyltransferase. This article opens a previously unknown window into how chromatin remodeler defects can drive disease via both epigenetic and cytoskeletal dysfunction.

Interviews were collected as part of the Linguistically Underserved Communities and Health (LUCAH) project, which aims to make health information more accessible and culturally relevant for the Chin refugee community in order to ensure that they are getting clear and accurate information.
